Rosie's Broadway Kids offers paid and unpaid internships in the summer and during the school year.
Intern Program:
These internships offer experience in a number of areas, including:
- New York City Arts-in-Education
- Arts Administration
- Teaching Dance, Music, and Drama
- Child Development/Working with Children
- General Organization and Responsibility
Internships are open only to current college students. While the RBKids Intern Program is open to students who are receiving credit for their internship, interns do not necessarily have to be receiving credit. Sorry, but we can’t provide housing for interns.
Summer Internship
- Full time, M-F, approximately 9 AM-4 PM
- Paid
- Begins: Late June
- Ends: Early August
- Application Deadline: April 1
General duties:
Assist primarily with our Summer Intensive program, which is an intensive study of musical theater for our scholarship students. Interns help manage more than 50 students, set-up and break-down administrative details each day, prepare materials for the Summer Intensive, produce the final performance, and with the administrative wrap-up of the summer session.
Required qualifications:
Must be a college student, have prior experience/training in musical theater, have prior experience working with children, and have had some administrative office experience. Interns must be enthusiastic, willing to take responsibility for their own learning, and know how to take initiative.
Fall/Spring Internship
- Part time, 15-30 hrs per week
- Paid
- Begins: Mid-September and early February
- Ends: Late January and early June
- Application deadlines: Fall – August 1 / Spring – November 15
General duties:
School-year interns work primarily in the administrative offices in a variety of areas. Interns assist the staff with daily administrative details, grant administration, website maintenance, the ACTE II program, and the PS Broadway program. Duties also include assisting with the set-up and break-down of the final in-school performances. A fall intern may continue into the spring if it is mutually acceptable between the intern and RBKids staff.
Required qualifications:
Must be a college student, have prior experience with office administration, and have some prior experience with the performing arts. Experience with children is helpful. Interns must be enthusiastic, organized, detail-oriented, have strong communication and computer skills. Interns should be willing to take responsibility for their own learning, and know how to take initiative. Strongly recommended for students with an interest in arts-in-education administration.
